Letters of the Fontaine family [manuscript], 1807 and 1850.

In a letter, 1807 December 27, Liverpool, James Maury writes to [William Fontaine], Richmond, Virginia, re their families, Admiral Berkeley and the "Chesapeake" incident, British regulations permitting neutrals to trade, and Maury's attempts to translate their great-grandfather [Jacques] Fontaine's memoirs. In a letter, 1850 May 8, Beaverdam, M. L. Fontaine writes to her son, John B. Fontaine, Hanover Courthouse, re family matters.
